Millet porridge with pumpkin is a healthy and comforting breakfast. Made with milk, sweet pumpkin and butter, it’s warm, nourishing and perfect for cozy mornings.

    250 g
  • Pumpkin
    400 g
  • Water
    2 glass
  • Milk Căsuța Mea 2,5%
    460 ml
  • Sugar
    to taste
  • Salt
    1 tsp
  • Cinnamon
    1 leaf
  • Butter Căsuța Mea 82,5%
    to taste

Directions

  1. Pour hot water over the millet and let it sit covered for about 10 minutes.
  2. Put the pumpkin, cut into small cubes, into a pot and add 2 cups of water. Season with sugar and cinnamon or cloves, and cook for 5–7 minutes, until the pumpkin is half-cooked.
  3. Add the rinsed millet over the pumpkin and season with salt.
  4. Cook covered until the water is completely absorbed.
  5. Pour the milk and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer covered, on low heat, for about 10 minutes.
  6. After the porridge is ready, add the butter and stir until it melts completely.
  7. Serve warm — it makes a healthy and energizing breakfast.
