Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper (I used a 22 cm round pan).
In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, and salt for 1-2 minutes.
Add the almond extract (optional for a more intense almond flavor) and almond flour,
Stir until well combined. Add the cooled melted butter, gently mix. Pour into the prepared pan and bake in the middle of the oven for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle almond flakes on top, and return to the oven for another 15-20 minutes.
Cool the cake in the pan and enjoy it both warm and cold.
