Directions

  1. In a spacious pan, heat the oil and lightly brown the pre-cut pieces of chicken, about 2–3 minutes on each side, until they develop a light crust. Remove the meat and set it aside.
  2. In the same pan, add the finely chopped onion and sauté it until it becomes golden and soft. In a bowl, mix the sour cream with the flour and cold water until you get a smooth mixture, free of lumps.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the sour cream mixture over the sautéed onions and stir well.
  4. Bring the sauce to a boil, then add the pieces of chicken once again. Pour in enough water to cover the meat, season with salt and pepper to taste, and let it simmer over low heat for 20–30 minutes, until the sauce thickens and the meat becomes tender.
  5. At the end, sprinkle freshly chopped greens (parsley or dill). Serve warm, alongside homemade bread. Enjoy! A simple and classic taste that reminds us of childhood meals.
