Directions

  1. Pour milk into a saucepan, add a vanilla bean split lengthwise and its seeds. Heat the mixture over low heat until the first bubbles appear, but do not let the milk boil. Then cover the saucepan and let it steep for 30 minutes to allow the vanilla to release its aroma.
  2. After 30 minutes, remove the vanilla bean and add the cocoa, sugar, and salt. Pour in the heavy cream and mix thoroughly until smooth. Continue heating over low heat until the first bubbles appear, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the chopped chocolate and stir constantly until completely melted and combined with the milk mixture. Cook for another 5–10 minutes, until the hot chocolate thickens slightly and reaches a creamy, rich consistency.
  4. Enjoy hot chocolate in a deep mug, and for extra flavor, you can add honey, sweet whipped cream, or even cotton candy for a truly special experience.
