An annual or biennial vegetable plant. Got its name from the light green, curly leaves with a delicate taste and barely noticeable bitterness (translated from French frisé - "curly"). Contains vitamins A, B2, PP, ascorbic acid, beta-carotene, iron, potassium, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, calcium, zinc. The lettuce is used in various green salads, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches. Goes well with fish, seafood, meat delicacies, mushrooms, eggs, cheeses, citrus fruits, nuts. The original green lettuce leaves serve as decoration for any dishes. It's better not to cut frisée but tear it by hand and dress right before serving. Keeps in the refrigerator for no more than a week. Overripe leaves begin to taste bitter. Average weight of one head - 300 grams.
